General Information

This year’s Independence Blue Cross Broad Street Run starts on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at 7 a.m. 

The race begins at the Central High School Athletic Field on Broad Street between Fisher Avenue and Somerville Avenue. The Independence Blue Cross Broad Street Run course is a 10-mile, point-to-point course (named one of the fastest 10-mile courses in the country by Runner’s World) through the varied neighborhoods of Philadelphia along Broad Street. The 2026 race finishes in the Navy Yard.

Spectators are welcome to cheer on runners along Broad Street.

This is a road race, not a walk. The event organizer, the City of Philadelphia, and the Philadelphia Police Department require that all participants run a sub-15 minute per mile pace to allow the City to re-open Broad Street in a timely manner. All runners not keeping this pace will be directed to the sidewalks to allow traffic to re-open.

If you decide to slow to a walking pace, please move to the curb lanes to allow faster participants more running room. If you plan to go at a slower pace, please do not line up at the front of your corral.

THERE ARE NO REFUNDS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. If health mandates related to a resurgence of COVID-19 compel us to cancel the May 3, 2026, Independence Blue Cross Broad Street Run, we will hold a virtual run and no refunds will be issued.

Individual lottery registration

The price of the 2026 in-person race is $65.00.

Lottery registration is now closed and results have been released.

All accepted candidates will have received an email and your credit card would have been charged.

If you were not accepted into the lottery, you will receive an email to that effect and your credit card will NOT be charged.

Special note regarding registration for the Kids Run & Fun Zone presented by CHOP.

Online registration for the Kids Run & Fun Zone presented by CHOP is open until April 27 (11:59 p.m. EST). You may also register at the Health & Wellness Expo in the Kids Fun Zone presented by CHOP or register at the finish line starting at 6:30 a.m. on Race Day.

This event is for children under 12 only. If you are over the age of 12 you cannot register for this event.
